2020-2021 was a very challenging year for Langley Orchestra, with classes held virtually for most of the school year. Students missed out on many of our usual orchestra events. However, students took charge and collaborated on several virtual recordings. Orchestra students submitted individual recordings, and a team of students led by senior cellist Riker Wilson mixed the individual recordings into what became Langley Orchestra’s virtual recording “concerts.”
Langley Orchestra’s first virtual recording of the 2020-2021 school year, Filmscore Composers, was released on November 21, 2020 via a live watch party, and can be viewed on YouTube here.
Langley’s second collaborative recording of the school year, Holiday Classics, was released in February 2021 and can be viewed on YouTube here.
Finally, on May 15th, students were able to once again share a stage and make (socially distanced) live music together at Wolf Trap in the glorious Sounds of Hope concert and celebrate the Class of 2021 seniors. Photos can be viewed here.
